RORC Caribbean 600

12 – 22 February 2019

Near 900 competitors representing 30 nationalities take part every year, at the middle of February, in one of the most prestigious regattas organized by the Royal Ocean Racing Club. Recognized all over the world as one of the international sailing greatest events, this race get together under the same Caribbean sky, Olympic medallist, America’s Cup top sailors and Volvo Ocean Race sailors and amateur sailors coming from everywhere.

The race has a route of 600 miles among the beautiful Caribbean Islands of: Antigua, York Island, Barbuda, Tintamare, Anguilla, St Martin, St Barths, Saba, St. Eustatius, St Kitts, Nevis, Redonda, Montserrat, Guadalupe, Les Saintes y Les Désirade. Starting and finishing in Antigua Island, the race route is plentiful of idyllic landscapes but in fact is a real sail challenge due to different local conditions of each island which causes variations in the Trade Wind pattern. Without doubt, the RORC Caribbean 600 is a unique regatta. A great experience to always remember.

“The race has many tactical legs with land effects and wind-driven currents which are both difficult to predict. The heat of the day and the long nights are also unusual features for an offshore race making it every bit as challenging as the Rolex Fastnet Race, and just as exciting”
(Nick Elliot. RORC Racing Manager)

“The RORC Caribbean 600 attracts the world’s fastest racing yachts, magnificent super yachts and corinthian production cruisers. Gathered in Antigua for the start of the 600-mile blast around 16 Caribbean islands”
(International Sailing Federation)
